PROBLEM STATEMENT.

The problems of our community mostly originate from floods due to the climatic weather we are experiencing. Once a flood is generated by the garbage irrigated in the streets of our locality that will end up in the queues, we could say and until the part of the plastic waste are in their majority the main ones collaborators to this anthropic disaster, but compared to unicel
(Expanded polystyrene) its degradation time is shorter, a period between 60-100 years maximum. Having an abysmal difference compared to the degradation period of the unicel that lasts around 1000 years, those glasses or plates pozoleros made of the material in question, provoke unimaginable damage to the environment.

JUSTIFICATION.

To produce polystyrene, non-renewable natural resources are used, since it is a plastic derived from petroleum. It is a material whose presence in seas and drainage systems is very risky. If unicel objects float in the oceans, given their low biodegradability they will affect marine life. Physically clogged it´s full development, block sunlight, and cause much more havoc if multiply by careless handling.

OVERALL OBJETIVE
Contribute to the mitigation of the use of products made with polystyrene expanded (unicel) in populations plagued with waste of said material.

SPECIFIC OBJETIVE

Expose the consequences, damages, and disadvantages that represent for the environment, the unbridled consumption of products packaged in unicel, as well as the alternatives that are found for the reduction of the use of said product.

HYPOTHESIS

The more informed the community is about the importance of reduction, reuse and recycling of EPS, (and therefore apply those principles to your daily life) less will be the ecological impact that this controversial material infringes on the environment.

THEORETICAL-METHODOLOGICAL ARGUMENTATION.

The range of possibilities to reduce the use of this material is quite broad, there are dishes of different shapes, glasses for hot and cold liquids, transparent containers, balls and even
covered that can be 100% ecological and biodegradable because they are made of organic matter that decomposes and reintegrates the soil.
While it is best to stop occupying unicel disposables, the biodegradable options are less aggressive with the environment.
